“From one came three…”

In the Spring of 2010 four New Mexico artists were seized with the vision of mounting an exhibit of artwork inspired by the seminal and extraordinary Red Book, created by the eminent Swiss founder of Analytical Psychology, Carl Jung. From that gem of an idea, a full-blown, ambitious multi-media event, including three art exhibits, was born. The response to the initial call for artists for what was to be the only exhibit yielded 150 portfolios for consideration, the largest response ever received for any exhibit at the Community Gallery. The overwhelming community response impelled a creation of two more art exhibits. Time, location and dates may be found below, and on the Events page of this site.

The Gallery images on this site are but a sample of the artists and their work that will be exhibited in each of the three Mining the Unconscious Art Exhibits, beginning with the First, opening Thursday, June 17, 2011 at the Santa Fe Community Gallery. The Second exhibit will open Friday, July 8, at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design Fine Arts Gallery. The Third exhibit opens Saturday, August 6, at the Pyramid Gallery of the Encaustic Art Institute. Please peruse these images as a sampler and enjoy the depth and breadth of creativity in the visual arts that our area enjoys. Allow these images to inspire you to visit each exhibit!
